I think it’s time to update the place where I am. Panama City. Of course this is in Panama! I just tried to download some pictures from the last few days. Looks like I’m failed. Anyhow, just some text. (the pics from a day later).

I left San Jose, Puerto Rico last Sunday morning. Hoping everybody is still sleeping and I will make it quick to the border town Canoas. Hm, I wasn’t early enough. Wow, so many Ticos and Ticas love to bicycling and jogging. The first country I have seen it since I left the USA. I choose the way thru the mountains. Up to 3350m, still cyclists! It was a really nice ride again, even I had to where my gloves for the first time against the cold. Just fog, that’s happen when just cross the clouds. No rain!, till 60km to my goal.

Wow, when it rains, then it rains! I arrived in a town, streets like rivers, border post empty.

I wasn’t sure I’m still in Costa Rica or I’m already in Panama.

Finally I found a place to stay, a place to eat and watched The Game. Costa Rica vs. Mexico.
Next morning border crossing! Ok, I passed last night the Costa Rica border post, no problem the police said, just go back and do it now. In one and a half hour I was out of Costa Rica ….

…. and in another two hours in…. PANAMA.
My goal was Santiago, half way to Panama city. It wasn’t meant to me to go there easy. Pan-Americana blocked.

Strike. When they opened, rain for the rest of the 150km or three hours. I made it and found a nice and expensive place to stay.

What a beautiful morning. Sunshine! I jumped into my wet gear and hit the road. What a beautiful day! Here in Panama is the Pan Americana relative boring, relative straight and flat but in good condition. Just let it roll. I stopped just to eat something. Today I want to make it before the rain starts in the afternoon.

Ups, why want this guys that I pull over? I wasn’t too fast …. I hoped! After they expected all my paper, asked me some questions about where I came from, where I wan to go, how big the bike is ….. I got my paper back and the wish for a save travel. Nice.
I arrived relative early here. Damn, what a city, only one way streets.
Went over “The Canal” for the first time, saw how the American continent is divided by an artificial canal. On the end I “hired” a taxi to take me to the hostel, 5min, and I was searching for ….
So now is the next task to pick up my daughter on Friday and look how to get the moto to Colombia. Already two weeks behind my schedule.
