San Bernardino (CA)

What a day it was yesterday. I started early in the morning, not much time left before I have to go into Mexico. Sunny nice morning. I decided to follow Hwy 1 down the coast to Los Angeles. Sunday? maybe a lot of traffic but who knows. It was a nice right, foggy and cold (15-16) like I expected. You have really stunning views there ……

First breakfast stop in Monterey, everything was fine till I tried to get of from the parking lot. Victoria Hernandez in the PT Cruiser in front of me decided to take a parking lot she already passed. I guess she forgotten to take a look in the rear mirror or maybe just not big enough, ether way,  she was able to lift the car on my front wheel. Finally she realized something is wrong and moved forward. “That’s it!” came to my mind, wheel, fork and whatever else is damaged. I’m surprisingly was able to keep the moto upright. “OK, let’s see what happen!”, I said to here. “How much?, How much?” and “Sorry mister, sorry mister”, was all what see was able to say. Another surprise for me, apart from a piece of the front fender (not sure is the right word) which broke off, no damage. Hm, insurance? She had. Call them and make a claim? Waist the whole Sunday? Nope. I wished here a good day and gave here the advice to use the rear mirror ones more often. I moved on the coast down.

In Santa Maria (CA), I decided to leave the coast Hwy and moved on to the mountain. Yeah, temperature is rising, Soon I take off some layer of my close and had an awesome ride thru the Sierra Madre Mountain.

Lunch/Dinner break in Mettler (CA) after I have seen all the oranges we can buy in the next season. This state has no water, I wondering how they doing it?

So, time to think about a place for the night. 7pm, another hour driving left. Holy moly what a mistake. The next real camp ground is just 80mi away, maybe 1 – 1.5 hours away. I should be fine. I arrived at something like a camp ground at 9:30pm. Before I had to drive thru a dark huge town calls Palmdale CA), finally into the dark mountain.

No really signs, curvy and sandy from flooding. “What am I doing here?”
